Welcome to Eat Bike Explore! My name is Abe and I am the person behind Eat Bike Explore (EBX). My goal is to inspire people to explore new places, whether it be somewhere across the country or even in your own neighborhood. I’ve had a constant yearning to discover new places. I believe we should broaden our horizons through exploration. My goal is to share with you the countless destinations I've experienced both locally and elsewhere. I hope to motivate you to take advantage of not only your own neighborhood but to look beyond your routine and get going on your next journey.

How it Started
In late 2000, I moved from the suburbs of Orange County, California to the City of Los Angeles. Although the two places are only about 1 hour away, depending on where you are, the two places could not be more different.
Living in Los Angeles
When I first moved to the City of Los Angeles, I lived in the Miracle Mile neighborhood. I was on the 11th floor of an apartment tower with an amazing view of Downtown Los Angeles and the Hollywood sign. It felt very urban and cool.

Living in Miracle Mile helped me, for the first time appreciate being in a walkable neighborhood and the plethora of non-chain shops, cafes and bars in the area. My appreciation for walkable neighborhoods soon led me to wonder how many places I can get to without a car (which also means less money towards gas).

Love Where You Live
I've moved through various neighborhoods in the city, always supporting local businesses if possible, supporting local theater, discovering new pop up events and back then trying to get into the latest clubs and bars.
I also started taking improv and acting classes. Los Angeles is the entertainment capital of the world, so why not take advantage of where I lived? I periodically did some background acting, also known as extras. Because of background, I did get two SAG vouchers which have long been lost now. Back then, I needed three vouchers to get into SAG (Screen Actors Guild)

2023
In July 2023, I moved from Los Angeles to Portland, OR. In hindsight, Los Angeles was a jumping off point for me. I am excited to start my new life in the PNW and looking forward to exploring more of this part of the country. International travel would broaden my horizons even more and this is where I am at now. It started with a short move from Orange County to Los Angeles, and after 23 years in Los Angles, to Portland, OR and now I want to see the world.
